Is it possible to pick a particular add-on to not sync?

more options

Okay, so I set a Firefox Sync between my desktop and laptop. My desktop typically runs Nightly, while my laptop runs just the normal release of Firefox.

I noticed that a particular addon I'd installed messed up my Laptop's Firefox (it forced it to always launch as private, regardless of setting), but that particular glitch didn't happen on my Nightly. I want to keep it on my Nightly, and not on my regular Firefox, but any time I disable (or enable) it in one, it changes it in the other too.

Is there a setting to tell Firefox Sync to "not sync" for a particular addon or particular addons?

I don't see a way to exclude an extension from Sync, but there is a preference that is supposed to allow you to enable on one machine and disable on another, that is, prevent the enabled/disabled status from being sync'd.

It seems that you would go into about:config and set services.sync.addons.ignoreUserEnabledChanges to true on both ends. However, I don't use Sync, so I haven't tried it myself.

I noticed a request for enhancement in the bug tracking system: 735605 – One should be able to choose which add-ons are to be synced.

A note about the bug tracking system: If forum members can contribute to the development, please feel free to pitch in. Otherwise, it's generally not helpful to add comments to bugs (unless there is a call for test cases), but you can register on the Bugzilla site and "vote" for them to be fixed. See:
