My web site server wants me to download a lower version of Firefox to Fire Fox 3.6.9 - 9
On our IMAC we have FireFox 24. My web site support says in order to edit my web site I need to download from 24 to FireFox 3.6.9-9. I have read this is a security risk.

If it's a major hosting company, and you don't mind naming names, perhaps someone at Mozilla can reach out to them and help get them on track to supporting modern browsers.

Yes, using a version that old can be a security risk. Firefox 3.6.9 dates to August 27, 2010 - over 3 years ago.
Doesn't that web host have FTP upload capabilities? Most web hosts allow newly created pages or edited pages to be uploaded via the FTP protocol, so that editing on the actual web server isn't necessary.
This is probably the most well known and trusted FTP client.

Oh Wow. I'll check out that link. I have no idea how to use FTP through my MAC. I've only used FTP sites to send video, etc. Thanks.
