How can I get the chain icon, for making hyperlinks, onto my toolbar?

I found the hyperlink tool in the icon that looks like a rectangular screen, but evidently some Thunderbird toolbars have a chain icon for making a hyperlink. I use hyperlinks constantly in my e-mails, so if I could just click on one icon instead of it being a 2- or 3-step process (as it is with the screen icon) that would be most helpful. (I just moved to Thunderbird from Outlook, which recognizes hyperlinks automatically.) Is there any way I can add the chain icon to my toolbar?

The 'insert' > 'Link' via top toolbar or 'square icon' > 'Link' via Formatting bar is the only two options using that option which will allow you to customise.

you could use the words eg: 'My website' and associate a link to those words via those methods.

If you are simply adding a http://www. website address, then you can copy it from a browser and paste it into the content. It will not appear to look like a link because it allows you the option to edit it easily. But if you save a Draft copy, then look at draft copy, you will see the link now looks like a link, just in case you want to test it. When you send the email, the link will auto become a clickable link.
