How do I set the right hand margins?
When typing an email, there is no right hand margin set. I tried using the margins in format, however these don't do it. When typing, the email lines go on indefinitely. I need to set this for all emails - not just one at a time. Please advise. Thank you.

The lines should wrap at the border of the window, not before. If the screen scrolls so you can not see a complete line, that is wrong.
Try restarting Thunderbird with add-ons disabled from the help menu to see if an add-on is messing with the line wrap is it is scrolling.
