using firefox 31 on windows 7 When I copy an image from firefox all that pastes is blackness. Pasting it into both paint and fireworks produces this result. An "image" the same size of the image I am actually trying to copy will paste but it is just all black. Copying images from other browsers still works as does the print screen button. The problem is only with firefox.

Keazen oplossing

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
