Firefox wants to remember my usernames and passwords
I'm not updating to the latest version after reading through the changes, until I know you're not saving my credentials. The change log states that autocomplete=false is no longer supported on username/password fields. Where is the option to disable that? I don't want you remember my passwords and usernames.
WTF?

What that change means is that users can use Firefox's password manager with login fields even if the website is trying to block automatic logins by setting autocomplete="false" on those fields. It doesn't mean you have to use the password manager. (I don't use it for websites, only for one of my add-ons.)
Firefox has two distinct features:
- Password Manager
- Form autocomplete
To disable the Password Manager and clear any saved data, you can use the Security panel of the Options dialog. See: Password manager - Remember, delete, change and import saved passwords in Firefox.
To disable saving of form field entries, there is a checkbox on the Privacy panel of the Options dialog. To clear past form field entries, you can use the History menu > Clear Recent History. Expand the Details section to clear all the other checkboxes and only clear Form & Search data.
You can use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:
- click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
- highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key - press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry
