Is this the hand the mouse pointer changes into when you mouse over a link? And what is hidden, the tooltip for the link, or something else?

Since I use Windows, I may be unaware of a difference specific to Mac. Is it possible to capture a screen shot of the hand? Please cut or blur out any sensitive information in the screen shot before attaching it to a reply.

Thanks jscher2000,

Yes the pointer arrow does turn into a hand. Either way, though, the hand covers up most of the first word in the tooltip box. Sometimes I can't tell what the tooltip is trying to say b/c of this.

After a little more reading, I found that this tooltip is sometimes called a hover box. Either way, it comes up underneath the pointer/hand (either one) and I'm unable to read the first word of the tip.

I wish I knew how to make a screen shot with this Mac. I've successfully made them before by pushing CMD+SHFT+3 (sucks, doesn't it? LOL) it goes to desktop, then I can c&p. However, in this instance, whenever I push the screenie keys, the little tooltip box disappears!

If I were a programmer, I would change the tooltip box to hover on top of the arrow/hand.

Thanks for your help!

On Windows 7, there is a small gap between the bottom of the hand and the top border of the tooltip, maybe 1-2 pixels. Does your system use customized icons for the mouse pointers? Just wondering if there is a reason for Firefox to be calculating that location incorrectly.

Thanks jscher2000,

I'm using a Mac Mini mid 2011 with Apple blue tooth mouse. Looking at the system's preferences, I don't see where the pointer can be customized as they can be in Windows.

Also checked Firefox preferences. Didn't see customization options there, either.

I have a Windows 7 OS on another PC, so I'm familiar with customizing pointers. I guess Windows has a leg up on Mac in this (and many other) repects.

I appreciate your response.
