My Firefox opens all clicked links in a new tab--how can change the settings back to opening links in the same tab instead of a new tab?

I changed the setting when I first got my Mac to open clicked links in a new tab because I didn't have the track pad set up the way I needed to to click through to "Open in a New Tab." But now I have that all set up, I can't find where that setting was changed and I would like to open any link directly clicked on in the same tab, not a new one. This may also be in the Mac settings as well, but I can't find where I changed it any obvious place.
