I accidentally lost connection between Thunderbird and one of my folders holding saved messages and after trying several different things I now have nothing in the Thunderbird "Local Folders" folder although I've cut and pasted the "Mail" file into the proper location in Windows Explorer. So I have a "Mail" folder at "C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\fbs6igl3.default but when I go into Thunderbird there is nothing under "Local Folders" other than empty "trash" and "outbox" folders.

Did you close Thunderbird first before pasting the 'Mail' folder into the profile folder name ? If TB was running then it would not update the profile folder name.
