Hello,

I have a message that my Shockwave Flash player version is vulnerable and should be updated. Updating leads me to the Check Your Plugins page, https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/. This contains a Plugin Status window, apparently necessary in determining next steps in updating. However the "wait" dial continues to spin and never displays any information. I have tried to go around this page to update the Shockwave plugin, but am always directed back to this page and the spinning status detector.

What do I need to do to fix this, and update the plugin (maybe two different issues) Thanks

hi STreat, please see if you can resolve the problem on the plugin-check page when you go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > plugins & set the "java deployment toolkit" to never activate and then reload the page?

Philipp,

Thanks, problem resolved. Verbose: This also resolved a number of other little "niggling" issues including the speed with which Firefox responds. Thanks, this is really great help, and it is forcing me to dig around in Firefox a little more to learn it better. Steve
