Sync isn't working between my old computer and a new one--both are logged in.
I've got a new computer. The old one says firefox is "up to date" when I check, and I just installed firefox on the new one. Both are logged into sync. And both show a current "sync" date. I've tried restarting both firefox programs several times. Nothing seems to work. My history and bookmarks and passwords are not showing up on the new computer, even though both show all the sync options checked. I've got to solve this in the next few hours, or I'll lose the old computer and its contents. Why in the world isn't this working? I'm running Windows 7 on both machines, and they are both desktop machines. I'm sending this question from the old computer, so the "share data" button is going to show that one.

oh, in case it makes a difference, I'm behind a firewall. Could that be having an impact?
This is another way;
Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
This is your current profile. Copy the folder As Is to a folder on a thumb drive. Then Copy the folder to the new system.
Yes, this worked. So it's an answer to the immediate problem. (and thank you). I'd really like to know how to get the Sync working properly, though, so that I can keep multiple installations in sync (for example, as passwords change), since that is supposed to be what it does--and it seems it isn't happening.
I don't use sync. I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.
