I am on a 64-bit setup of Win10. Don't know whether the new version of Firefox 47 is in 32 or 64-bit, and I can't tell which plugin is causing the problem.

Firefox may have found any number or variety of plugins on your system... Does the error look like the following screenshot from this thread: After visiting Food.com, got this message that now pops up when I use Firefox.

You could try the suggestions I made in that thread:

Try clearing Firefox's cache in case you're reloading a corrupted page:

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, that might take a few minutes. If you do not see the number going down on the page, you can reload it using Ctrl+r to check progress.

You might also try disabling any plugins you don't need. Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Plugins. Then on the right side set non-essential plugins to "Never Activate" to disable them. If the problem goes away, perhaps one of those is not starting properly or got corrupted??

Thanks for the suggestions, but I've tried both and It did not fix the problem, and, Yes, it appears to be the same issue your were having;, although clearing the cache and de-activating some plugins has not worked.

I even tried installing the latest Javascript for 32-bit. I also tried refreshing and reinstalling Firefox, but none of this has worked.

I guess I'll have to leave this question open in case anyone has other ideas and comments worth trying.

This is good to hear. Now, please set the Adobe plugins to Always Active.

We're still working on finding the bad plugin. If Adobe has no problem, then we try another.
