Thunderbird can't access my existing email account server due to a password change. However it does not prompt me for the new one. How do I enter the new password so it can access my account?

Contrary to what's stated in the article you can also directly edit the password Thunderbird has remembered.

The mozillazine article is useful, so why hasn't the help website and the 'FLOSS manual' been updated to carry the info? Let's face it, there should be edit tool for this in Password Manager, as we are supposed to change our passwords are we not! Unfortunately the next bit isn't quite right. Yes you can indeed change the text in the 'Remembered Passwords' field (even has a context menu on 'right click'), but it then doesn't update the stored information, and tries to use the old password again. Fortunately I did then get a reset password dialog box appearing.
