How do I find a bookmark folder that was accidentally deleted?
Today I discovered that one of my bookmark folders has disappeared. I'm not sure when this happened and I didn't deliberately delete it but it's definitely gone. I looked up support questions on this and got instructions on how to recover a deleted bookmark but they don't work for folders. If I open "Show All Bookmarks" I get a list of folders and a list of individual bookmarks that are in folders. The deleted folder is not on the list.
I'm assuming this deleted folder must be somewhere so how do I find it?
Thanks, okkony

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac
Then reinstall the latest version.
Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Firefox automatically backs up its bookmarks. Unless the settings were changed.
Restore Bookmark Backups
To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.
Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Restore. From the list, pick the file you want and click it.
The backups are stored in a jsonlz4 file named something like this; bookmarks-2016-06-29_1424_enD1GTHya0JmicnYWg4V4g==.jsonlz4 In this example; 2016-06-29 = date created, 1424 = number of entries.
If you have made a lot of changes/updates since the last backup, make an export file first so you can later reintegrate those new items. These articles list the steps:
Export BEFORE restoring a backup: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks
AFTER restoring a backup, you can open that export file in a Firefox tab (it's a web page) and right-click > Bookmark This Page the ones you need to add.
One other option for finding dislocated bookmarks: You can open that export File in a Firefox tab and use Find (Ctrl+f) to look for the folder name or some of its contents, and then look at the context of where it is located.
