Multifox add-on and website is down. When will Firefox create a similar feature WITHIN Firefox, to use unique cookies?

Multifox website is down. Seems like they withdrew their program completely. When will Firefox create a similar feature WITHIN Firefox, so one can have different tabs with unique cookie sets?

This feature saved me much time and frustration. I need it back or to find something similar.

Hi

There is a new feature in Firefox called Container Tabs which meet what you need. It is currently in out Test Pilot program and is available for you to use. You can read more information here.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.

If you have time, could you post a comparison with Multifox after you've had time to test drive Container tabs?

Multifox doesnt seem to be working anymore AT ALL. When it did work, it was great, because you could have 50 or more unique cookie sets. WIth the containers, as far as I can tell, you are limited to 4, which is not enough for me. Why limit it to 4? For privacy, I need much more than 4 because of how many sites try to track you and invade your privacy.

Were you not able to create more containers? I think only 8 colors and 8 category icons are currently available to choose from, but I'm not aware of a limit on the number of containers you can create.

When I click the PLUS symbol, it only offers me 4 colors/4 unique cookie sets - Personal, Work, Finance, Shopping. If more are allowed, its not intuitive how. Even if there are 8 available, thats not enough, as I need about 50.

My previous screenshot was not the complete story...

I installed the Test Pilot extension and took a look at it. I created 16 new categories in a row and then checked how they appear in various places.

Screenshot #1: This is the container menu, with the "+" button to add a new container category circled.

Screenshot #2: The container list that drops from the new tab button on the tab bar can only show the first 18 at my screen resolution (not sure how the order is determined).

Screenshot #3: The container menu has a scroll bar and whatever you click opens a new tab in that container.

Screenshot #4: Right-clicking a link offer a new section of the context menu listing containers you can open the link in.

Screenshot #5: The classic File menu has a similar option to #3, but it's more compact and with only 20 container categories, no scrolling is needed.

Your experience may vary.
