how to move my earthlink emails to my new computer, please! Am stuck on step "In T-bird create matching sub folders...etc..."

My old earthlink emails are not on earthlink web mail because I did not set up the feature to keep them on web mail until today, unfortunately. That is, they are on my old computer's Thunderbird program but do not show up in my new computer's Thunderbird program. I have taken these steps: -Created a Gmail email address on my orig puter. -I think I have set up a Thunderbird accnt on the orig puter for my Gmail accnt. -Have configured my Gmail accnt properties to IMAP.

In the new Gmail account, right-click a folder and select New Subfolder.
