Even though I have selected Google as my default browser, Secondary searches revert to the Bing browser causing me to have to start over if i wish to use google as my browser.

For example: I enter "Apple store near me" in my default home screen (google search home screen).

The result shows search results with the minisearch scrren at the top left with the Bing "b" designation as my browser default.

I have excluded "bing" from alternate browsers per help screen instructions but this "bing" broser still pops up.

I don't want to use the "bing" search engine but it appears to have captured my mid 2011 Imac running ios sierra 10.12.6!

Hi  !

I'm not sure, but you could be dealing with Bing.com browser redirect. Just to be on the safe side : Go to the 3-bar menu (or 'Tools') => Addons => Extensions and look for any unfamiliar or suspicious looking extensions, like e.g. :

SafeSearch Incognito SearchAssist Incognito Search for Fire Fox 1.6 SafeSearch ch SafeSearch net Converter.onesearch org File Convertor and Search Addon Findwide Search Engine 1.7

When you find any : remove them.

Do the same in your system's Control Panel.

However : most malware will be 'hiding' somewhere , so let's run malware scans :

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. They all work differently - what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.
