So I own a Xiaomi device, and it runs on MIUI (I guess that's where this problem comes from).

With the new firefox visual overhaul, the status bar area is white by default, the problem is, my statusbar icons also remain white which makes status bar invisible.

Well this was the same with nova launcher, but the dev has managed to fix it finally. Maybe firefox users can reverse engineer the fix?

Have you considered installing a theme from here?

This will change the colour and pattern of your toolbar in Firefox for Android and make it easier to see. This guide will help you with this.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I've tried dark themes but they aren't able to change status bar color, it remains white :(

The status bar colour is not something within Firefox for Android, it is part of the version of Android you have installed on your device. You may want to contact the Xiaomi support team for help with this.
