Click on the header labeled DATE to sort by date. Click the first message you want to remove to select it. Move to the last message you want to remove, hold the shift key and click that message. Now the 1st message you selected and the 2nd message you selected and all messages in between are selected. Double check the selected messages. If you see any you want to keep hold the control key and click them to deselect. Press Delete.
