As a web developer, I frequently have to "reload" a page, but unfortunately this is fairly useless.

It was a pain before, but I then only had to go to: Options > Privacy & Security and click clear cache.

However, Mozilla has moved it:

Options > > Privacy & Security > Cookies & Site Data - Clear Data > Uncheck the Cookies > Clear Data

It is also VERY DANGEROUS as you could easily clear all your cookies by mistake

This is a real PAIN when the reload button should do this for me! Yes, even reloading the CSS and Java Script files!

Please can someone either make the Clear Cache easier to access, or better still fix the reload button so it works!

Thanks. Richard Gamester

As the reload button doesn't work, let's try Firefox in Safe Mode, to see if maybe one of your extensions (if you have any) could be causing this :

If Firefox is not running : Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running : 3-bar menu => ' ? ' (at the bottom of the dropdown) => 'Restart with Add-ons disabled'. Then OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click 'Start in Safe Mode' ( not 'Refresh' !)

Would Ctrl + Shift + R work for you  ?

You are doing a reload and bypass the cache?

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

You can also leave the developer toolbox open and disable the HTTP cache via the settings page (F1).
