When I click on a link in a website, I cannot get irefox to open the new link. It just sits there.

When I click on a link within a website, Firefox does not open a new tab (which is what I have it set for), nor does it go forward to the new link within the open tab. The browser just sits there and does nothing. It is very frustrating.
