Firefox does not recognize me as a subscribing user of the New York Times and asks me to log in over and over in the NYT site.
I think this is a privacy setting issue. I always log on from my iMac at home and the computer (and its browser) should be able to know I am a New York Times subscriber- just like Safari on that same iMac recognizes me as a Netflix member and never asks me to enter my Netflix password. Where is the setting that control that recognition? I unblocked cookies, but it did not seem to help in any way.

Try clearing the cookies in Firefox for iOS. One of the NYTimes cookies may have became corrupted & is blocking your login. It should prompt you to login again. If so, re-enter your details. They should stay remembered this time.

- Look for an item matching nytimes.com or www.nytimes.com in the list of sites under "Website Data". You only have to clear cookies for any entry matching nytimes by tapping the red button next to them. It might have multiples of them (like both nytimes.com & www.nytimes.com) you have to clear though.
- If that fails, try deleting the login for nytimes.com or similar: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manage-saved-passwords-firefox-ios#w_manage-saved-logins
