I cannot figure out how to send E-mails from Thunderbird. Is the a control that I am missing?

I cannot find any controls on my latest version of thunderbird that allows me to send an E-mail. It will let me type the E-mail but then there is no control allowing me to send it. Can you help me? Am I missing something?

Maybe you are missing the toolbars in your Write window. Open a Write window. Do you have a Menu Bar with File-Edit-View etc? If not, press the alt key to make it appear. From the Menu Bar select View-Toolbars and turn your toolbars back on. The Send button is on the Composition toolbar.

My instructions clearly say to press the alt key to make a menu bar appear. The alt key has displayed hidden menu bars since the beginning of Windows. It is a good shortcut to remember.
