Restarting TB closes all open message tabs

Usually when I close TB, the next time I open it, there are multiple tabs across the top showing messages I have open.

The one exception to this is when I open TB, and it does not fully open. When TB does not fully open, I need to close it and restart it again. On this second attempt to open TB, if it does open, all of the Open Message Tabs are closed.

Does TB set up restore points that I can use to go back to a session where all of the tabs I have open for messages reappear?

Thanks.

TB stores the tabs that are open when TB is closed, in the session.json file in the profile folder. The file is read next time TB is opened, but if TB doesn't 'fully open', it looks like it resorts to an empty session. Do you get an error message in that case? I can imagine that if you have an antivirus scanning the mail folders - an option that is not recommended - opening TB can sometimes cause problems. Or, if you're getting a 'profile in use' error.
