Websites load in tablet mode by default (using macbook), no option to switch to desktop version.

I can switch to mobile version via Web developer, but cannot get the desktop version. Happens on many websites, but not on all (I guess on those that have specific tablet design in addition to the mobile one?)

Thanks!

Your question appears to be pretty similar to this thread that I answered last week.

The problem most likely has to do with your screen size or resolutions settings. The website obviously thinks that you are connected from a mobile device based on the size information that it's being given.

The only real way to fix this is to zoom out the page. This will trigger the desktop version of the website once you get past the threshold of what the website developers have set as the mobile maximum screen size.

Other than that, you can check your laptop's screen resolution and try to increase that.

Hope this helps.
