Firefox newbie here.

I have just migrated from Internet Explorer which, on every invocation, would open into my Yahoo Mail account (having processed/bypassed the login and password screens from within IE -- or somewhere else?)

Can the same be done in Firefox please and how do I go about it?

. . . . . bypassed the login and password screens

This is very simple. Just don't log out of low-security web sites. You only need to log out of those websites that have your personnal data. Banks, stores, credit . . . . .

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.
