I am attempting to migrate my old POP mail to a gmail account. I have set up the gmail account with IMAP enabled it in Thunderbird. I have created folders in the gmail account to receive the old emails. I can copy emails from Tbird to the gmail folder just fine, and it will show up in online gmail. The problem is when I try to copy a large folder of say 3000 emails, it quits after 1700 or so. If I try to manually copy the remaining emails into the folder, it does nothing. Is there some kind of limit to the number of emails that can be copied to a gmail folder?

I don't know whether Gmail has any specific rules for uploading messages within your account. It certainly has a cap on how many messages can be sent or received in a day, to protect against spam. I have found that copying or moving or deleting large numbers of messages between local folders and any online email account can result in failures. I know it is more time-consuming, but the only solution I know of is to select smaller batches of messages. Maybe someone else will have a better suggestion? Agnes
