Thunderbird - Migration to New Computer - Folders Missing
My boss had a Laptop and was running Thunderbird for her Email Accounts. She needed a replacement laptop. Microsoft did the transfer and said they pulled all data off the old and put it on the new. I added her emails back to the new laptop and the emails in the inbox and some folders have come over. It says it is done, but she says some folders are still missing. I don't use Thunderbird so I have no real clue how it works.
1. Does it make sense that some folders would be stored on the device and some would be stored online? 2. If a backup was done, what would the file extension be for a Thunderbird export (i.e. Outlook uses .pst files)?

If the AppData folder was backed up, you could have restored the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird folder to the same location in the new setup to have the identical setup as before, including folders stored in Local Folders and also for POP and IMAP accounts. If you can find the Thunderbird folder, or just the profile folder in Thunderbird\Profiles, you can restore the folders. If you added the accounts as IMAP to the new setup but are missing some folders, right-click the account in the (left) Folder Pane, Subscribe, Refresh, and check any missing folders.
