I changed passwords on my ATT email account. Then changed it on Tbird 78.6.0. After that TB would not send or receive. And it looked totally different. Settings were all correct.....same as they always had been. Finally I took the drastic step of uninstalling and downloading TB again. Now it looks just like it did before the uninstall. Totally different from before this started. Inbox, Sent, Trash, and folders I had made are not visible. What can I do?

The 'special account' is probably Local Folders, and it should not be renamed.

Use the regular account password for webmail, use the key in TB.

When you changed passwords, did you create a secure mail key and use that instead of the new password in TB?

I did use the Secure Mail Key from ATT. I was able to send a email to myself as a test. TB did not download it though. That Mail Key is now the password in Saved Passwords. There is now the "outbound" info showing in there, whereas before all this started both outbound and inbound were showing in there. When I sent the email the option to mail it to was a news site. There was no "To" line. I managed to get the "To" line up and sent it. But TB will not download the email still. I don't know if this means anything but I just noticed under Account Settings it says "This account is a special account. There are no identities associated with it". I now have Sent, Trash, Outbox. Still no Inbox.

UPDATE: I just found out I had to use that Secure Key in the Setup of the account. It all is working as it should be. LAST QUESTION: If I log in to my webmail service on ATT website I use a password I chose. The Secure Mail Key is the password now in TB. Should I leave it like that??
