I have a complete backup of my TB profile (phmau5h.default) and need to copy a folder from the backup to the active TB. Is there a way to do that? If I copy the appropriate folders into the the active TB profile directory, where they should be . It doesn't work. When I restart TB it removes the folders and files that I manually copied over. I need to recover some folders.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nor

If you use IMAP, then you may need to copy the folder to Local Folders structure (local to your device), not the IMAP mail structure which is synced with the online webmail server. After you get them there you should be able to open Thunderbird, copy the contents from the Local Folders into an active IMAP folder. Please describe exactly what folders you are copying and where in the profile you put them. I can't be sure this will work as I am on an Exchange server setup which is not standard Thunderbird.

I solved the issue by installing TB in a LT and using the backup profile as the default on LT. I then installed the EXPORT import plugin on both mail clients., I then exported the folder in the lT and imported it to the desktop.

Thanks for the reply.
