I can't find a record of website forms I fill out and send.
When on Firefox, I sometimes fill out a form on a website for a variety of reasons, i.e. requesting a document. After doing so, I can find no record that it was sent. My primary email is [edited email from public] @gmail.com. Is that what is used to send it? If so, I cannot find any record of it when I check "sent" items on that account. Please tell me where i can find that record? Steve C

Hi Steve, it's very common for web forms to be handled by the site's own web server without involving your email at all. This forum is an example: you cannot email comments here, you need to use the web form, and you are not notified of your own posts. Of course, you don't need to be notified of your own posts because you can read them again any time.

Hi Steve, Firefox usually doesn't keep a record of what you enter into web forms, although if you go back to a form, sometimes Firefox will reload the page from its cache with the last entries in there. But it's not reliable, and wouldn't prove you actually submitted that.
Firefox definitely would never email you a record of a form submission -- that would need to be a feature of the website you were using.
If a website is using your email account to send itself your message, then you would get an email compose window during the process. That usually would look something like what you get with the following mailto link:
There actually are some add-ons that keep a backup of your form entries while you are working on a form in case, for example, the page is accidentally closed. Maybe one of these could be useful in the future? I confess I haven't tried them myself:
Thank you. I should have confessed i am an elderly computer-phobe. It seems to me that this must be an issue for others. I realize that Firefox is not an email program. But when I am on Firefox and send a form to a website, is not it being sent on my email address? How can determine which one?
I have looked in my "sent" folder on my email accounts. Nothing there on this.
The must be some way to learn how those forms are begin sent. ????

Gee, and I thought once I put something on the Internet, it was there forever and always could be found.
Thanks for your help.
