I have a keyboard shortcut to insert a dash ( — ). I've been using it for years, but as of the most recent Thunderbird update it's misbehaving. It I get the dash, but the dash is entered on the next line, as if preceded by a line break.

I see this symptom only in Thunderbird, and as of today it's totally replicable. I expect I should report the bug to Thunderbird — does anyone here know how to do that?

Also, does anyone have any suggestions on dealing with this until the bug is fixed?

Since it is your shortcut, it may not qualify as a bug. It would need to be such that a bug in Thunderbird was causing the error. However, if you deem it a bug, you can report it at this URL: bugzilla dot org. I will share that there is an addon, unicodify, that converts double dashes to emdash, which you may wish to try, as it also does other neat stuff.

Thanks, David. This shortcut has worked for years. All it does is insert {#asc 0151} yet Thunderbird is adding a line break both before and after the dash. Something changed in the latest release, so I'd like to at least make them aware of it.

Over at Bugzilla, I see an icon for a new bug but it's not an active link. How do I submit a bug report there
