I have read all the help and it advises installing TBsync for version 128. I do that but then is not available for me to view when going to Tools> 'Add on and themes'. Then hit the wrench on TbSync, Account actions > Add new account. Then the CalDav option does not show to me as i have seen on other instruction sites...!

Any ideas why it is not showing? Are there any good guides on how to do the sync?

Fundamentally i am trying to get my calendar on Thunderbird synced up continuously to CPanel - cannot get it to work.. Any guidance would be really appreciated... Thank you...

Sync is via caldav and has basically nothing to do with cpanel.

As Thunderbird has native support for caldav sync of calendars, no addon is needed. If the calendar is on an exchange server, an addon is required to manage the Microsoft proprietary calendar sync.

The cpanel documentation has some information on caldav configuration. https://docs.cpanel.net/knowledge-base/webmail/how-to-set-up-calendars-and-contacts/

Apologies for my ignorance in advance since i don't think my calendar is on an 'exchange server'. I have my personal domain setup through cPanel with an imap email account and only run thunderbird locally on my laptop and from there use the calendar. Apple support advised that i need to get the Thunderbird calendar onto cPanel to link this to my iPhone calendar. Is this a showstopper? or is there another way??
