I have used Firefox exclusively as my browser for the past 6 months. Recently, I checked my "Temporary Internet Files" folder, where IE stores visited pages, and found it full and up to date, even though I had deleted everything in it when I started using FF. Why is Firefox storing data in here? Please note: On my computer, I have set up the "Temporary Internet Files" as the IE cach folder...IT IS NOT THE FF CACHE FOLDER. Thanks for any help.

If you visit a website that uses MS plugins like Windows Media Player or Silverlight then those plugins will use the Windows cache (Temporary Internet Files) that IE also uses.

How to clear the Firefox cache

Putting 'about:cache' into the navigation bar will show you some basic information about the cache.

Please see Browser.cache.disk.parent directory for more information.

When about:cache is entered, it shows the correct path that I have set for the Firefox cache folder. This does not seem to solve the problem of the IE cache folder also being written to by Firefox.

Dear , How can change my firefox cache(like as parent cache ,offline cacheand etc) to any other disk drive not in firefox instalation disk(alwayes c:\)? I checked my about: config but I have not any preference name for changing the cache directory.

You need to add the correct preference to about:config yourself, the pref isn't in there by default.
