When I clear History under Tools it does nothing. I can still see History if I go to History -> Show all History and all the tabs that I have open are still there. How do I clear history if the Tools option does nothing? I have also used other programs that suppose to clear history and that still does not work.

Does the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox window open?

Make sure that you not run Firefox in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode. You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing" ..... You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History" To see all History settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history Uncheck: [[ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"
