I am running Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion laptop. For the last 10 days or so, when I open FF, it partially crashes. The toolbars I have work and are clickable as is the menus and close/minimize buttons. The tabs become locked, if I have anything hovered, the tooltip hangs as well as anything on the webpage because inaccessible. The only fix, is to open it and hurry to try to click to change the page and seems to "force" FF to work and as long as it's open and I get the click in - it runs just fine and dandy for everything including flash. It's just upon opening a new window for FF. Sometimes it will take 5 or 6 window openings to "catch" and move pages. It affects pop up windows like my banking time out, where the window locks so I cannot click continue, but can close it or push toolbar buttons.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions. You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js . See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox ..... See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore

Thank you - it was the AIM toolbar that broke with that update.

Help!!!!!!

I have lost my url tab with the drop down menus (File, Edit, View, Tools, Help, etc. as well as my browser back button (arrow).

How can I restore them, as I am only left with the AVG toolbar that has Yahoo! Search, Total Protection, Page Status and a Delete History tab.

I think this problem all started when I tried to personalize the top of my web page with a tropical themed add-on for a header.

Please tell me what to do.
