animated gifs on my machine display fine in other program, but when im online with firefox 3.6.10 instead of showing the animation, it shows a single frame of it and then shows nothing as if there is no image for the other frames, so basicly i get a still image that blinks on and off the screen repetitively

I had this problem too, seems it's something to do with the cairo library. I downgraded libcairo2 from 1.10.2 to 1.8.10 and now animated GIFs display properly again.

For reference I'm running Iceweasel 3.5.18 on Debian Wheezy.
