I am using Firefox 3.6.10 running on Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I have had to reinstall Firefox once already because the default mail handler option, known as mailto under the applications tab under the options menu, has disappeared. Now every time I attempt to click any link that pertains to email I receive an error stating my mailto is not set to a mail handler even though I have already but it appears to have somehow and some point, removed itself. I am getting annoyed having to wipe my full installation of Firefox, reinstall it only to get my Gmail working again.

Keazen oplossing

Did you check the Mailto setting in Tools > Options > Applications ?

You can also try "Reset Download Actions": http://kb.mozillazine.org/File_types_and_download_actions
