What is the button at the right of my Google search window that's labled "Link Filter"?
Its icon looks like most of a red upper-case 'K' but the lower leg is a black arrow. This symbol is quite similar to other Kaspersky software icons but I removed that antivirus software and replaced it with something else. So I don't know if it's a leftover or a provision on the Firefox homepage.

Can you drag that button off that bar if you open the View > Toolbars > Customize window?
Does clicking that button has any effect?
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thanks. Dragging it took it off my toolbar. Also have a Virtual Keyboard on that same Navigation Toolbar but dragging it has no effect. Can't seem to get rid of it. I also have that on my Desktop and I believe I downloaded it at one time to be able to type when my cordless keyboard's batteries would give out, leaving me 'stranded'. I've since gone back to a corded keyboard and don't really need it now.
Sounds that you retained some leftovers from uninstalling Kaspersky.
Did you try Safe mode to see if those buttons are still present?
