I cannot open a new tab in firefox. If I click on a link, a new tab opens, but if I use the new tab button or control t nothing happens. I used to be able to open multiple tabs, but suddenly this changed. Can you tell my why?

Your user agent string (identifies the version of Firefox) is "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 AskTbBCPA/3.11.3.15590 Firefox/3.6.15"

The AskTbBCPA/3.11.3.15590 part indicates the Ask Toolbar has been installed.

Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4

Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

Wow! That worked. Thanks so much. When I clicked view, toolbars, ask was not checked so I thought it was not installed. I guess I was wrong. Thanks again.
