Received a notice about an update to be done immediately, but it will not open the question of what the update is about. Is this really an update from Firefox?
Is a box that opens up when I open Firefox. I had started to load the update but cancelled it because the info would not open when you clicked on the more information line of the up load. The message was that it was important that you upload the update to Firefox. Because of all the problems with look a like uploads to other programs that have been noted about in the news I decided not to do the full upload.

It's good to be careful. There is an update to Firefox available, version 4.0.1. The changes are partly bug fixes and a couple of security fixes: http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox40.html
To retrieve the update, you can do this:
Help > About Firefox > Check for Updates
Does that work?
It is probably wise to be cautious. Your system information details suggest you are using Firefox 4.0 that is a standard release but is slightly out of date (Now firefox 4.0.1) . As long as your System is not already compromised it should be safe to use the update option from within firefox 4.0 .
- use Firefox button ->Help -> About Firefox -
- for full details see updating firefox
