Please do the following:

  1. In the address bar, type about:config and hit Enter.

  2. In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following: accessibility.blockautorefresh

  3. Double click it to change it from "True" to "False"

  4. Close the tab and test it.

Incidentally, you should consider updating to version 3.6.17 by clicking Help | Check For Updates.

The reason is because there was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.

For more info, see http://blogs.comodo.com/it-security/data-security/the-recent-ra-compromise/

Thank you for the suggestion. The value was already "False" for that attribute so I could not change anything to resolve the issue.

OK, then go to Tools | Options | Advanced and in the General tab remove the checkmark from "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload a page"

I've just noticed you have adware/spyware installed. Click the orange Firefox button, go to Add-ons | Plugins and disable the Fun Web Products plugin.

There are a few others which are installed by that app and if you find any of them, disable these too. Here's a list: http://www.pchell.com/support/mywebsearch.shtml

Again thanks but Fun Web Products plugin was already disabled. Looked in the add/remove program for "My Search Web" to remove but there was no application with that name installed. Believe someone is going to have to takeover my PC to figure this one out but will continue to try any other suggestions.

Could you please download the free version of Malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free and run a full system scan to eliminate malware as the culprit as is often the case.
