I lost the orange retangle in the upper left corner--how do I get it back?
I'm not familiar with your vocabulary. How do I get the bars on the top of the screen back along with orange rectangle?

The orange Firefox button is a substitute for the classic menu bar. If you have the menu bar, you can use
View menu > Toolbars > uncheck Menu Bar
to restore the orange Firefox button.
