I have installed Firefox 4.0.1 this morning. Whenever I attempt to import any of the following; favorites, cookies, internet options and/or browsing history from IE 9.0.18112.16421, Firefox crashes immediately after the Import Wizard "Items to Import" window. I have attempted to export the IE favorites, etc. to a file for Firefox import, but I am unable to find an option for Import from a File.

I have not been to any websites aside from the Mozilla Firefox home page.

After all of the crashes, no Crash Reporter appears and when checking about:crashes, there is no information available.

If you have problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

  • Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
  • Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File
