If a Download stops due to loss of internet, I cannot get it to restart. If I click the pause and restart it is not restarting, it is saying an error message.

is it possible to restart in this situation with firefox?

See:

  • Move the old .part partial download and the 0 byte final file without the .part to another location.
  • Start a new download and pause it, don't close Firefox.
  • Copy the two files (.part and 0 byte final) that you moved above back to the download location to replace the new files that were created.
  • Resume the download in Firefox.

hello, thankyou. maybe my situation is different as i only have 1 file. so if I "move the old.part partial download" then there is nothing left.

file to download is 1 file the file is 400mb in size so far downloaded is 1 file, partial the partial download (the .part) file downloaded is 212mb then internet got interrupted.

how do I resume not having to redownload the 212mb? thankyou

PS: there is no final 0, as only 1 file

more options
  • Move the .part file with the 212 MB content to another location.
  • Start a new download and pause that download.
  • Remove the newly created .part file
  • Restore previously moved .part file to that folder (you may want to keep a copy in case you need to retry) to replace that removed .part file.
