after i upgraded to firefox 7 most videos i try to watch, the video stutters and skips while the audio runs fine

i was running an earlier version of firefox (don't remember which version) and i could play videos just fine. then i upgraded to firefox 7 to use gmail properly, and since then most of the videos i try to watch don't run properly. the audio runs fine without and catches or skips, but the video would play for a few seconds then freeze/lock-up/stick for a few seconds the skip to the current spot then play for a few seconds and get stuck and so on. this happens on most of the video players i try and use like megavideo, veoh, and hulu.

i looked at that link and even tried some of the fixes it suggested but it didn't fix the problem. i still get skips and jumps in the video playing while the audio runs fine. i have tried restarting in safe mode and that didn't fix it. i watch alot of videos online, but as it is, it is making it almost impossible to watch videos and understand what is going on.

Yeah, I also tried the various numbers of "fixes" and also turned down video quality to low/standard rather than HQ/HD, but the video itself still stutters/freezes/etc (but the sound also still goes fine like normal)...
