I have a Dell PC using Windows Vista. My PC is on a LAN and connected to the Internet via a Router (Proxy Server). After I updated to the latest Firefox, I could no longer get on the internet unless I click on the Firefox emblem in the upper right corner, click on 'options', click on 'settings', and then click on 'Use systems proxy settings'. When I exit Firefox the settings revert to some 'Manual' settings with some strange address. How do I get Firefox to retain the 'Use systems proxy settings'?

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thanks cor-el. Your advise led me to discover that Plugin Microsoft.net Framework Assistant 0.0.0 is incompatible with Firefox 7. I disabled it and Firefox now works.
