I moved the "stop load" X icon to the left along with the refresh and home icons, after which the X icon disappeared even though the other stayed ok.

The "stop load" X icon disappeared from my navigation toolbar and I don't see it in the available icons in the customize window to add it back.

Did you also look at all of your toolbars while in customize?

You could use the keyboard shortcuts and avoid the problem altogether.

Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

  • Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
  • Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise (Space or Separator) to get two distinct buttons.

If you do not see the button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.
