Firefox won't open
I got hit by a virus on my PC, which goes by the name "Privacy Protection". It downloaded itself automatically when I opened the website, and then it instantly killed all programs that were open (including Firefox). The virus blocked Firefox from being able to open, presumably so that you couldn't download antivirus software.
Good news: I was able to remove the virus by entering safe mode and deleting the files manually. Bad news: Even after removing the virus, I am still unable to open Firefox. When I doubleclick on Firefox, it appears as a process on the Task Manager list, but no Firefox window ever opens.
I tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling to the newest version 7.0.1, but it still does the same thing. Double click to open, sit there and wait, nothing happens.
For some reason, internet explorer opens up just fine, which is how I posted this. Please for the love of god someone help me out so I'm not stuck using crappy internet explorer

Bump on this topic, I forgot to mention that Firefox will open up browsing windows just fine when I boot up in Safe Mode, but with windows in normal operation it still won't open any browsing windows when I start it up
Uninstall Firefox, but then search Firefox on your computer and delete every file/folder pertaining to it, then reinstall. Apparently, uninstalling still leaves a lot behind. You'll lose all your bookmarks, but it worked for me. I had the same exact problem and this fixed it. Good luck!
