Firefox has memorized an incorrect user name for a web site. It refuses to forget it and corrects my entries to the incorrect one, preventing me from signing into the website

I wrote the screen name incorrectly. I wrote squidqueen instead of Squidqueen. Firefox remembers squidqueen and when I try to log in as Squidqueen it autocorrects to squidqueen (lower case s, rather than capital S) . I have cleared history and cookies and the browser cache. The part that I believe needs to be cleared is "form and search history" However, that line is greyed out and I cannot mark it to clear.

Hi DebiAnn,

Try going to Tools > Options > Security and then click on Saved Passwords. From there, you will be able to see all the websites that you have saved passwords for. You can delete that entry from the list and you should be good to go.

You should read the Password Manager Knowledge Base article for more information on this really powerful tool.

Hopefully this helps!

Hey thanks, it worked PERFECTLY. And you explained it very well, I was able to follow your instructions (even though I am a complete and total technopeasant) and delete the saved screen name without any problems at all. Thank you very much for your help.
